Welcome to KrapMaps! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KrapMaps mobile application ("App"). By downloading, accessing, or using KrapMaps, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Important: Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using KrapMaps, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you are under 18 years of age, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the App.
2. Description of Service
KrapMaps is a community-powered platform that allows users to:
- Discover trash bin locations on an interactive map
- Add and verify trash bin locations
- Earn points and rewards for contributions
- Compete on leaderboards
- Share travel tips and discover destinations
- Customize profiles and unlock achievements
- Access Premium features through subscription
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of KrapMaps, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
3.2 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@krapmaps.app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User-Generated Content
4.1 Your Content
When you contribute to KrapMaps (bin locations, photos, travel tips, etc.), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App.
4.2 Content Standards
You agree NOT to post content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains spam or malicious code
- Is false, misleading, or inaccurate
- Contains personal information of others without consent
- Is sexually explicit or inappropriate
- Promotes discrimination or hate speech
4.3 Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms. We are not responsible for content posted by users.
5. Points System and Rewards
5.1 Earning Points
Users earn points by:
- Adding new bin locations (50 points)
- Verifying existing bins (25 points)
- Submitting travel tips (10 points)
- Daily login streaks and achievements
5.2 Points Value
Important: Points have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to other users. Points are for engagement and gamification purposes only.
5.3 Leaderboards and Prizes
Monthly and all-time leaderboards reward top contributors with badges and recognition. Any prizes or rewards are at our sole discretion and may change without notice.
5.4 Fair Play
Any attempt to manipulate the points system, create fake accounts, or engage in fraudulent activity will result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all points.
6. Premium Subscription
6.1 Subscription Plans
KrapMaps offers Premium subscriptions:
- Monthly: $4.99/month
- Yearly: $49.99/year
6.2 Premium Features
Premium subscribers receive:
- 8 custom app themes
- Custom username colors
- Exclusive emoji sets
- Ad-free experience
- 2x points multiplier
- Premium-only raffles
- Priority support
- Early access to new features
6.3 Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account and automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device settings.
6.4 Refunds
All purchases are final. Refund requests must be made through the Apple App Store in accordance with their refund policy.
6.5 Changes to Pricing
We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before price changes take effect.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Impersonate others or create fake accounts
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the App
- Use automated tools (bots) to interact with the App
- Scrape or collect data from the App without permission
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
8. Location Data
KrapMaps uses your device location to provide map-based features. By using the App, you consent to our collection and use of location data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disable location access in your device settings, but this may limit App functionality.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Our Rights
The KrapMaps App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by KrapMaps and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
9.2 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works
- Sell, rent, or sublicense the App
- Remove copyright or proprietary notices
10. Third-Party Services
KrapMaps may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (e.g., map providers, payment processors). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party services.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Bin locations are accurate or up-to-date
- User-generated content is accurate or reliable
- Any errors will be corrected
Use of bin location data is at your own risk. Always verify bin locations in person before use.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KRAPMAPS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages resulting from use of or inability to use the App
- Reliance on user-generated content
- Unauthorized access to your account
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Premium subscription in the past 12 months (or $50, whichever is less).
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KrapMaps from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you submit to the App
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
15. Changes to Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue features at any time
- Change the points system or rewards structure
- Update Premium features or pricing
- Suspend or terminate the App entirely
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which KrapMaps operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
17. Dispute Resolution
17.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@krapmaps.app to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
17.2 Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except where prohibited by law.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and KrapMaps regarding use of the App.
